Randi Lattimore, National Mind Body Director
It’s with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Randi Lattimore to the newly created position of National Mind Body Director for Midtown Athletic Clubs.
For the past 11 years, Randi has served as the Mind Body Director for Midtown Athletic Club in Rochester, NY, leading a successful community of talented instructors and devoted yogis in a space and program she designed herself in 2005.
Together with her teaching team, she has worked tirelessly to create a culture of genuine connections, care, and community outreach that has flourished in Rochester and has made Midtown's yoga program the strongest in the city.
Randi is incredibly excited to begin developing the yoga programs within the other seven Midtown clubs.
Yoga Teacher Training Program
One of the strongest components of Midtown Rochester's yoga program is the club's Yoga Teacher Training Certification program.
The program has trained over 100 Rochester yoga instructors, and is about to kick off its biggest year yet with 30 participants enrolled.
“We’ve certified so many teachers since 2011 that our program has had a significant impact on yoga in the Rochester community,” says Randi. “I love it when I meet new students who tell me that their yoga teachers are themselves graduates of our program and recommended it to them.”
Next Steps
Randi is looking forward to reviewing the yoga offerings at each club, and developing a consistent experience and delivery throughout.
But first, she’s ready to listen.
“I want to hear from the instructors and yogis in the other clubs so that I have a better understanding of their current programming, and how they would like to see it grow.”
Afterward, Randi plans on using what she’s learned to help develop cutting edge Mind Body programs and attract top talent that will allow the programs to flourish.
Essential to this growth at each club is the creation of community that’s been vital to the success of the yoga program in Rochester.
“The yoga community at Midtown Rochester, which includes both teachers and members, is at the heart of the program’s success there. The outreach-oriented spirit of the yogis at this club has allowed us to host several fundraising events throughout the year to help those in need in Rochester,” says Randi.
In particular, the club’s annual “Thanks for Giving” yoga class, held each year on Thanksgiving morning, has raised over $23,000 for Bivona Child Advocacy Center, which helps victims of child abuse.
Last year’s event alone raised over $6,000 in a single, one-hour class. This year will mark Thanks for Giving’s 10th anniversary.
“My goal is to have community-based classes similar to this one at each of our clubs,” Randi says.
Yoga for Everyone
One of Randi’s main goals for the growth and development of the Mind Body programs throughout the company is to create a program that suits the needs of a wide variety of members, from those looking for challenging power vinyasa classes to those seeking meditation, mindfulness, and restorative yoga.
After all, Yoga is for everyone and every body.
She’s also looking forward to launching several fun, fusion-based classes at Midtown Rochester (think: yoga and Pilates mixed with high-intensity interval training), as well as organizing destination yoga retreats. She's looking forward to bringing them to other clubs as well.
As Randi begins her new role, she will continue to serve at Rochester’s Mind Body Director.
