Introducing Triple Threat at Midtown Bannockburn
There’s a new way to get fit at Midtown Bannockburn and it’s not for the faint of heart. Get ready to raise your heart rate, strengthen your muscles, boost your metabolism, and push yourself to new heights with Triple Threat, a 45-minute, High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) class that centers around three stations that we like to call Threats.
The Three Threats:
Third Base: Here it’s all about the tools. Each class will have a tool of choice, from kettle bells, VIPRs, Medicine Balls, Sandbells or just your body weight. You’ll be given a sequence of exercises to focus on, with conditioning in mind.
Rower: It’s at this station where you’ll not only gain muscular strength, but also build aerobic endurance. This station is about building your engine, getting your heat rate up.
TRX: This station focuses on suspension training using bodyweight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. Liking the TRX? Try our TRX Fusion class.
Every class will starts off with a quick warm-up to prepare the body and mindset for what lies ahead.
After the warm-up, it’s time to get to work. With the music setting the tone for a heart-pumping workout on The Court, eight people will be stationed at each Threat. You’ll find yourself at each of the three Threats twice during the 45-minute class, but the second time around your instructor will mix things up by progressing each exercise or adding new ones; it all depends on the program for the day.
If you think this sounds challenging, wait until the instructor yells, “Blitz Time”. That’s right, halfway through the class you’ll drop what you’re doing at perform a one-minute, measurable exercise that will test your endurance after 15 minutes of hard work. This is the Instructors choice and could be an individual exercise or done with a partner. It’s tough!
Oh, I should probably mention that you’ll perform this exercise TWICE - a second time at the end of the class. Make sure you count how many reps you complete the first time and make it your goal to complete more the second time around.
After the class wraps up with a cooldown, all you’ll want to do is sprawl out on The Court floor and let your muscles rest.
Classes will be offered Monday 5:45-6:30AM, 6:00-6:45PM, Thursday 8:15-9:00AM, 10:30-11:15AM and Saturday 12 Noon-12:45PM.
The class is limited to 24 spots.Tickets can be picked up at the front desk an hour 1-hour before class begins. All tickets will be collected by the Instructor before the class begins.
