Hit the court for TNT 2018
We don't like to brag, but we're pretty proud to have introduced more than 100,000 players to the game of tennis over the past 48 years through our Tennis in No Time program (TNT).
While our courts have seen the likes of Venus Williams, Billie Jean King, Andre Agassi, and more, TNT alumni are keeping the courts hot every day during cardio tennis, monthly adult tennis mixers, personal court time, and as members of our adult tennis teams and leagues. I mean, just look at Midtown Bannockburn’s women’s tennis team, comprised of TNT graduates turned Nationals contenders.
Did you know tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem while scoring lower in depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than other athletes and non-athletes.*
The Lesson
The only skill we require TNT participants to have prior to your first lesson is nailing a high five. You can leave the rest to our expert tennis instructors.
Each TNT lesson consists of 90-minutes of on-court tennis development where you’ll learn how to forehand, backhand, volley, lob, serve, and serve return, as well as the basic tactics of singles and doubles play. You’ll also learn with two different types of balls, the red ball and the orange ball. These lower compression, lighter weight balls slow the speed and lower the bounce, ultimately making it easier to rally and allowing for more meaningful repetitions.
How exactly will you learn these skills? Our tennis instructors engage participants in interactive drills and partner play to promote technique development and team bonding.
When your court time is done, you’ll head off-court for 30 minutes in the classroom where we’ll cover rules of the game, etiquette, and scoring for total integration into the culture of tennis.

Community
As a TNT participant, you are invited to two social events, a cardio tennis party and a tennis mixer, where you have the opportunity to socialize, play tennis, and enjoy food and drinks with all TNT participants. These events give you the chance to connect with beginner tennis players who you can share court time with after you’ve completed the TNT program.
Did you know that, while there may be sports that can provide excellent health benefits and some which can provide mental and emotional growth, no sport other than tennis has ever been acclaimed from all disciplines as one that develops great benefits physically, mentally and emotionally.*
Non-member Benefits
For non-members, the program offerings don’t stop at six lessons and three parties. During the three-week program, non-members have access to all of Midtown’s amenities and fitness studios. There’s no other fitness facility that offer a complimentary three-week membership while you learn to play tennis.
What’s Next
At the completion of your Tennis in No Time session, your coach will give you a rating to guide your future participation in various tennis programs, as well as a roadmap for your continued development.
You’ll be invited to take part in our favorite tennis programs, including Adult Instructional Program, Drill and Play, Cardio Tennis, Teams designed for new players, and monthly tennis socials.
