Member of the Month for January 2016
Each month, Midtown Sanctuaire will share the inspiring success story of one of its members as part of a series.
For the month of January 2016, we're sharing Jade Chebli's story.
Q: When and why did you join Midtown?
Jade: I have been a Midtown member for three years. When I joined the club, I needed help getting motivated to exercise regularly. I also needed to lose some weight. Back then, I didn’t really watch what I ate, and I had quite the sweet tooth. Joining the club helped me reach my initial goals.
Q: Your MyZone activity report shows that the 60-Day Transformation Challenge has given you a second wind. Tell us about your experience rising to this challenge.
Jade: The 60-Day Transformtion Challenge has definitely boosted my workout routine and my motivation level. I really felt the club’s sense of community during those 60 days. Members would encourage each other to push their limits, and that made me take my workout even more seriously. The Challenge helped me start 2015 on the right foot. From 230lbs in January 2015, I went to weighing 175lbs on the morning of September 21, 2015, after running a half-marathon. Amazing when you think I couldn’t run more than 6 times around the track 6 months before that!
Q: That’s very impressive! Congratulations! Now, tell us what a day at Midtown looks like for you?
Jade: I often arrive early, at around 6am, and start with some of the more social activities, like tennis or squash. Afterwards, I will do an hour of cardio training, and three times a week, I will hit the weights. I top off each one of my sessions with 15 minutes of stretching exercises to make sure my workout is well rounded.
Q: The 60-Day Transformation Challenge will soon launch once again. Why should Midtown members sign up for this adventure?
Jade: The Challenge is a jumpstart. It helps you understand what needs to be done to reach your goals and allows for supervision by Midtown’s specialists and support from the community of participants.
In short, it’s a great way to push your limits while having fun.
Q: Thank you so much, Jade. What are your hopes and dreams for 2016?
Jade: I plan to take part in my first triathlon on June 23, so wish me luck and lots of fun.
