Better than Yesterday Series: Moderate Level Classes
Written by Eric Lowery, Creative Director, Midtown Athletic Clubs
If you managed to keep up with your fitness in any regard this last year, hats off to you. Whether you were working out in your living room, running outside, or dipping your toes back into group fitness, be sure to reflect on and reward yourself for your accomplishments. 2020 didn’t make any of this easy.
But 2021 is here, and with it comes a whole new year of chances to be better than yesterday. Start adding to your progress and forming new healthy habits, a little bit at a time. Research shows that the best way to make big life changes is to start small, then celebrate and build upon your victories. So if you’re used to doing 2 classes a week, try to go for 3. If you’ve been focusing primarily on strength, aim to mix in a bit of cardio. These intermediate programs below are a great way to find a new passion, push yourself a little further, and ultimately develop new habits.
Zoned
We developed this program specifically so that you can maintain social distancing and safety, but still get together with your squad and feed off each other's energy. You’ll work through a great mix of strength and cardio with minimal equipment, all within your own dedicated zone.
312
This class is a high-energy, total body workout that incorporates cardio, strength, and core in every class. And if you’re the type of person who finds motivation in variety, look no further. While the key elements stay intact, no two 312 classes are ever quite the same.
The Barre
These targeted bodyweight movements and challenging positions will build strength, increase flexibility, and tone up specific muscle groups that will make you feel your best now, and well into 2021.
