Mind Body Studio Expansion
Feb 29, 2016
The following is an update from Windy Hill Athletic Club General Manager Karen Foley.
Attendance has grown significantly in our yoga and Pilates classes, and as a result, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of the Mind Body studio.
Beginning in late March, construction crews will knock down the wall between the Mind Body studio and the Cycle studio to create a larger Mind Body studio.
Not only will the project expand the size of the room with added wall space for inverted yoga poses, but the new studio will also offer a more private setting.
The new studio space will include fixed bars on the walls for our barre classes as well as cubbies to store your personal belongings and shoes at the entrance.
We appreciate your patience as we worked to find a solution that would accommodate the growing number of members attending our Mind Body classes. Our goal is to offer you the best yoga, Pilates, and barre classes in Atlanta.
Significant engineering enhancements are necessary to add hot yoga and aerial yoga to our current class offerings, so we won’t be adding these classes at this time.
Mind Body studio construction will take place during the weeks of March 26-April 10 (Easter and Spring Break week). We will have a modified Mind Body schedule during these weeks.
Since the Mind Body studio is expanding into the current cycle studio space, the cycle studio will relocate to the empty racquetball court. The new studio will feature staged seating and state-of-the-art lighting for a truly fun class experience.
We will continue to offer the Wexer Virtual Ride system for those who want to cycle when a class is not in progress. We are testing out several biofeedback systems to determine which would be the best to bring to our club, and once we have identified it, we will install the equipment in the cycle studio.
Cycle studio construction will begin in March. We expect the studio to be completed by the end of March, so that there will be no interruption to cycling classes.
We understand that those who like to play racquetball will lose the only court left, and we apologize for this. Namaste.
