WERQ It for School Chest
Member Mimi Noonan from Midtown Athletic Club in Bannockburn, IL has endured more than any person should ever have to.
She's suffered the heartbreaking loss of two of her children to cancer, and her husband to cardiac arrest.
And yet her indomitable spirit has powered her through a life devoted to service and helping others.
Mimi, a doctor of veterinary medicine, and an accomplished triathlete and Ironman, is Vice President of the Greater Illinois Pediatric Pallative Care Coalition (GIPPCC), an independent, statewide coalition of Illinois clinicians, families, institutions, and organizations seeking to improve access to quality community-based pediatric palliative and hospice care, education, and research.
GIPPCC is this year's recipient of Deerfield High School's School Chest, the charitable arm of the school, which has raised over $100K for local charities. Mimi is the Team Mom for the DHS Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Her son Reilly, now a college sophmore, was a track star on the team during his high school years.
To support Mimi and GIPPCC, Midtown Bannockburn is hosting a WERQ It for School Chest fundraiser on Wednesday, December 16, from 5:35-6:35pm. The incredible Paula Kooperman is teaching.
A minimum donation of $20 will help GIPPCC in its charitable efforts. The student council of DHS will be on hand to collect the donations.
Please consider registering for this event (head here), and help us help GIPPCC.
Thank you for helping us keep the Midtown spirit of giving alive this holiday season.
